This research-study has been undertaken by the Research Team of BNWLA with a view to find out how these marginalized women cope up with life immediately after entering into such marginality; what rights do they have in law and in practice; and what the proper or at least a desirable state policy should be available to resolve or minimize their problems. All these issues including general state of widows, widow’s legacy in Bangladesh, an inquiry into the role of law, field observations and problems identified, case study of widow’s and policy implications and recommendations and various other related matters have been covered by the research-study.
