This study reflects the philosophy of the Bangladeshi National Women’s Lawyer’s Association and the principle of the equality for women it talks about. The study is divided into three aspects, the first one is the conceptualization of the role of law and women’s subordination/subjugation, the second aspect deals with the empirical evidence of the knowledge of 110 men and women regarding family laws, family court; and the third aspect deals with the views of the practicing lawyers of BNWLA on the substance of law and the procedural nature of law. This study was also done to explore the difficulties encountered by women in getting fair judgment through the law and legal system. |
