The success story of Mina

This story is about a girl named Mina, age 20 and who has successfully established herself as a working women in the society, struggling for a long period of time, fighting against all barriers of the society. Mina was 3rd among the 7 siblings. Her father was a clerk of court and her mother was housewife. One day she decided to go to Dhaka to get a job in garments factory. During that time she was trapped by three agents and they sold her at Narayangang Taan Bazar. The agents made a license for her through Rotary Public by increasing her age falsely and forced her to engage in prostitution. Moreover, she was tortured by those agents badly when ever she refused to do the job. Some days later she was rescued by police and sent to Narayangang Jail. After three months she was again sent to Dhaka Central Jail. When she was staying in Dhaka Jail, she took training of embroidery and earned some money by doing the job. With the help of BNWLA she was freed from jail and after that she came to BNWLA in order to get legal support to carry out her case and reintegrate her with her family again.

At the beginning Mina was mentally upset and completely broke down when she came to BNWLA for help. The counselors of BNWLA helped her to recover the mental condition by continuous process of counseling and soon she became normal and started to take various training like CRC, Life Skill, computer training etc. As a result of these training she started to feel self sufficient and became interested to live a self reliant life. Considering her eagerness to live a self dependent life BNWLA arranged her a training in security firm named, Group 4, and from there with the help of group 4, Mina got a job of security guard in British Council at Chittagong. Along with this job she also received training on knitting from garments factory and after completing her training successfully she got a job in EPZ. At present she is working as a supervisor. The most remarkable part of Mina’s life story is that, with her extraordinary determination she did not become self sufficient alone but also helped her elder sister and sister’s husband to get job in EPZ. Thus Mina proved that, strength of mind, hard work can make a person skilled and self dependent, moreover, a self reliant person can help others to become independent.
